WARRANTY

Your WaterGait™  is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of 90 days. If, within that time, the WaterGait™ WaterLeg is returned to us, we will rectify the problem or a refund will be returned to you (minus all shipping charges).

These are the conditions that void the warranty:

1. Wearing the WaterGait™ WaterLeg without the surf sock. A definite no-no! (flooring, sand and cement are very abrasive, and the prosthetic foot can be very slippery when wet)

2. Using it in temperatures below 45ºF. The thermoplastic shell becomes brittle in freezing temperatures. (And what the heck would you be doing swimming in weather that is below freezing anyway!!)

3. Wearing it as a normal prosthesis for extended periods of time when out of the water environment. (It can be worn as a temporary spare in an emergency, but it is NOT recommended for use in high impact situations such as athletic jumping, kicking or lifting heavy objects.)

The skin finish can be replaced for roughly two hundred dollars. So if it starts to look a bit worn after an active summer at the lake, simply return it to us and we can make it look like new again very quickly.

CLEANING AND CARE of your
WaterGait WaterLeg

Treat it as if it were your own skin.

LEG: If it gets wet in the bath or shower, remove the surf sock, then rinse the leg with clean water and dry completely. If the leg gets dirty or exposed to outdoor water, remove the surf sock, wash it with antibacterial cleanser, then rinse and dry the leg thoroughly. If your leg utilizes a shuttle lock for suspension, extra care must be taken to remove bacteria and moisture.

LOCK: After you wash the leg, moisture will remain inside the lock. To remove residual moisture, pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into the lock. Hold the button down until some of the alcohol drains out of the hole. Pour out any remaining alcohol and let dry.

SURF SOCK: If the surf sock is used in clean water, just remove the sock and allow it to dry thoroughly. If it gets dirty or exposed to outdoor water, remove the sock, then wash it with soap or antibacterial cleanser and dry it thoroughly.

Always wash and dry the surf sock separately. Do NOT leave on the leg to dry. This will prevent any unpleasant odor from the growth of mold and mildew.

We will supply you with a spray bottle of anti-bacterial cleanser. This will kill nearly all bacteria that can cause unpleasant odors. It can be used to clean both the leg and the surf sock.
